Perhaps the most enduring image of the muscle car era was Steve McQueen racing through San Francisco in a dark green modified 390 CID V8 Ford Mustang. The Mustang has "enjoyed" many forms since, but that late 60s incarnation is considered the best of breed by purists.
Other desirable classic muscle cars include the Chevy Camaro, Buick Skylark, Dodge Challenger, Oldsmobile 442 and Plymouth Barracuda. Most of the truly great American muscle cars have it into diecast form, often more than once.
